Pet Shop Contest Entry
Since I'm on the final countdown (18 days!) till this show opens I want to see if I can squeeze in one more pet painting - picked by you!! Also, to prompt me to finally figure out how to operate my Epson printer I will be offering a yet to be determined print from the show.

To enter, simply leave a comment with your name & email letting me know your favorite pet and include a little story if you want. The winner of the print will be chosen using a random number generator and announced after the show opens. And maybe, just maybe you'll see your favorite pet make an appearance in the show!

And now onto the CRAZY GOOD NEWS!
Just a few short days ago I found out that I was accepted to the Vermont Studio Center for a month long residency this winter - 4 weeks with 3 meals a day, a private art studio, access to a daily life drawing model and a separate place to sleep. It'll be 30 degrees below ZERO and up to my bum in snow but I am SO EXCITED!!! Can I say "squee" now? Okay - SQUEEEEE!!!

well, hi sara! i've been thinking of you and viola, in comes this spiffy newsletter! it was great and i loved reading about all your goings on. i just started a newsletter too; although mine is a bit "raw". needs some help for the next one!

anyway, favorite pet - of mine, i'm guessing? if so, i'll say, my beloved Kirby. she was my golden retriever that we just lost this past feb. at age 14. she had a good, long life, but oh how i miss that sweet girl. (tears welling up as we speak...) she was so loving, accepting, friendly and non-conditional. all the qualities i would love to possess!

happy spring to you friend!

HI Sara! Congrats on your show AND residency! So cool!

I was going to enter your giveaway and post my favorite pet, but then I read Kecia's post and now I want her to win! :)

I will post something, but I am still pulling for Kecia. Something in a pet shop, huh? How about a guinea pig? I had a fascination with them for a while and was almost going to adopt one, but held off when I found out how much room they really need to run. I still think they are really cute and have the most interesting faces.

Hello Fellow Fishie! I am so glad you stopped by and said hello. Thanks for the generous comment - it made my day! I checked out your website and love it! I enjoy how you see movement and line - nice images! I love your Fighting Currents series and the possible meaning behind the title. I really enjoyed looking at the different gestures and profile views of the fish. It gave each one a unique personality and feel!

I use to take care of a red platty named Basho. His home was in an octagon tank that sat on my desk while going to college. I'd even bring him home for holiday break and decorate his tank for x-mas. He use to play with me - that's right we played together. He was the only fish I ever befriended. He had a great personality! Sadly he passed away. I cried and cried.

I love the transparency of paint on the wood - nice work! I'm glad to have met you in the fish bowl and look forward to learning more of your art + vision.
